Overview of Reported Data
This is all the available data that has been reported by data center operators in the Netherlands to the Dutch authorities (RVO), a requirement under the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EU/2023/1791) and the national implementation thereof.
Overview of Energy use and Emissions
We provide more detailed breakdowns further down, these are the key highlights.
Who Owns the Data Centers?
Information on the home country of ultimate beneficial owners.
Age of Infrastructure
Capacity Overview
In this section we show the total reported capacity of data center buildings in the Netherlands in terms of total floor space (sqm), usable space for IT (such as servers, storage or network equipment), total available electrical capacity and how much of the electrical capacity is currently occupied by IT equipment.
Residual Heat
This section contains an overview on the reported data in terms of the total residual heat that has been re-used.
Key Performance Indicators
The indicators are data center building specific performance indicators as specified by Annex I and Annex II of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU 2024/1364) and standardized in the European Norm (EN) 50600.
Cooling and Water Information
Below you will find specific information regarding the cooling systems, such as the refrigerants being used and the associated water usage.
IT Equipment Information
In this section we list reported data on the amount of IT equipment (only servers, the reported data does not differentiate between storage, network and server equipment) reported as well as the calculated embodied emissions from manufacturing.
Renewable Energy Information
This section relates to the reported information on the renewable energy used to power the data center buildings. Please note that the self-reported data on the absolute renewable energy use does not add up in the data that was submitted to the RVO.
Energy from Backup Power Generators
This section relates to the fuel use, energy production and emissions from backup generators of the data center buildings.
